People Powered Movement Photo ContestIn 2009 the Alliance held the People Powered Movement Photo Contest inviting photographers from across North America to turn their best biking and walking photos into a chance to win a 10-day all-expense-paid bike tour of Tuscany, a year’s supply of CLIF BARS, and other prizes. The contest ran from September-November 2009 receiving over 2,000 photos to the seven contest categories. Public voting in December helped narrow down the finalists, and winners were ultimately selected by a panel of expert judges. Out of the entries, nearly 700 photos were selected for inclusion in the Bike/Walk Photo Library. The Alliance thanks everyone who participated and contributed photos in support of bicycle and pedestrian advocacy. We also thank our sponsors (displayed to the right) for making this contest and resulting photo library possible. The Alliance has not determined if it will hold an annual or biannual photo contest as of yet. In the meantime, we encourage you to submit your photos to the library with the link above and stay tuned for announcements of future photo contests. |
