Advocacy Advance is a partnership of the Alliance for Biking & Walking and the League of American Bicyclists to support local and state advocacy efforts. Leadership funding by SRAM has enabled the Advocacy Advance Program. In addition to grants this program provides technical assistance, research, training, and coaching for grassroots bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organizations.
The Advocacy Advance Program, has three primary goals:
This new program builds on the strengths of the League and the Alliance. The League of American Bicyclists’ Bicycle Friendly America Program recognizes cities, states, and businesses for their efforts to improve conditions for bicyclists and provides technical assistance to help them make progress. The Alliance for Biking & Walking works to create and strengthen state and local organizations by sharing best practices, innovations, and through numerous trainings.
Early support of the Alliance by Planet Bike, Cannondale, and Bikes Belong helped get these new efforts going. The strong support of SRAM helped forge the partnership with the League and substantially strengthens the program. We thank these visionary companies that have made this program possible.
