About the host organization:

Still in its infancy, Bike Walk Montana is the new statewide organization advocating for safer and more accessible venues for biking and walking. Having just established a Board of Directors and hired an Executive Director in the recent months, Bike Walk Montana is off to a running start. Accomplishments to date including holding the first annual summit with nearly 100 participants from around Montana, creating a website, developing a Prescriptive Trails Program, and introducing legislation to pass a 5-foot passing law (though it did not pass, it was still a success in other ways).

About the host city:

Settled in 1864 after four gold-seekers decided to take one “last chance” at finding the precious ore, Helena today is a small, friendly city that’s also Montana’s state capital. The area offers a multitude of outstanding outdoor recreational opportunities including nearby trails for hiking and mountain biking, and nearby lakes and rivers for boating, floating, and fly fishing. Helena also offers many art options, including the Holter Museum of Art, Grandstreet Theatre, and a variety of live music most evenings.
